In 1983 I started my career in the motor trade, serving a 4-year apprenticeship at Lex Brooklands, a Volvo manufacturer dealer situated on Bristol Street, Birmingham and completing 4 years at college to gain my qualifications. After gaining technician status, I was enrolled on many factory training courses based only for dealers. I was then asked during my career to become New and Used car preparation co-ordinator and MOT TESTER, maintaining the high standards that were expected of a main dealer technician. After completing 19 years at Volvo I left to join the family business.
 In 2004 I joined Citroen as a technician and MOT tester, completed 2 years in the workshop and was invited to go into service reception as an advisor. I became increasingly frustrated and decided I needed to challenge myself.
In December 2005 Hartwell Motor Services opened, carrying out servicing, repairs, clutches, exhausts, brakes and all kinds of electrical and diagnostic work, specialising in Citroen and Volvo but also catering for all makes and models.
I feel that I am providing a level of service to my customer which has matched Main dealer standards offering a very substantial service at affordable prices, giving my customers value for money and an enjoyable all-round experience. This is qualified by a customer questionnaire which is given out with a pre paid envelope so I can monitor my standards. This has turned out to be very positive feedback.
After many months of hard work I am very proud to announce that I have had an MOT station installed in the garage. This will be fully functional in Feb 07 and further enhances my abilities to give my customers an all-round excellent service.
